How Did DingHe Help a Turkish HVAC Leader Pass Strict US and European Fire Certification?

Date:Jul 20, 2026

Client Overview

The client is a globally recognized leader in the HVAC industry, headquartered and manufacturing at its core production facility in Istanbul, Turkey, with a factory footprint exceeding 10,000 square meters. Known as a benchmark enterprise in the region's HVAC equipment manufacturing sector, the company holds a broad share of the domestic Turkish market while exporting products to more than 50 countries and regions worldwide, with a business network spanning Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.

As the company advanced its global expansion strategy, it set its sights on the higher-barrier US and European high-end markets. Within this push, the flame-retardant performance of its ventilation duct products became a key area of focus. The client made clear that its products needed to pass the most stringent fire safety standards in both the United States and Europe, a critical step toward unlocking these premium markets.

The Challenges

In pursuing its expansion into the US and European high-end markets, the client faced two core challenges around fire safety compliance.

A Demanding Certification Threshold

Both UL certification in the United States and EN13501 in Europe are known for rigorous testing conditions and detailed evaluation criteria, placing extremely high demands on the flame-retardant consistency and long-term stability of duct raw materials. Any batch-to-batch performance variation in the raw material risked undermining the finished product's results in third-party testing.

The Need for Technical Collaboration

The client recognized that sourcing high-quality raw material alone would not guarantee a passing result. Whether a supplier could provide professional flame-retardant technical parameters, and whether it could offer precise guidance tailored to the differing fire safety standards across regional markets, would directly determine the outcome of the product development effort. The client needed more than a raw material supplier — it needed a partner capable of engaging deeply in product development and working through technical hurdles together.

The Solution

The client learned of DingHe's established line of UL-certified flame-retardant films through LinkedIn and reached out to initiate contact, opening the door to a technical exchange between the two companies. The two teams engaged in in-depth discussions covering product performance, technical parameters, and the differences between regional fire safety standards. DingHe's team was closely involved in every detail of the client's product development conversations, offering precise, tailored recommendations based on the specific testing requirements of both UL certification and EN13501.

Once the two sides reached alignment, DingHe supplied UL-certified aluminum foil polyester film (AL PET Film) samples to support the client's research and development testing on its key products. After trialing the material, the client reported that its flame-retardant performance exceeded expectations. Starting from this initial sample order, the collaboration expanded — building on the flame-retardant film partnership, DingHe's standard laminate film also entered the client's supply chain testing system, and on the strength of its consistent physical performance, successfully passed the client's audit requirements for a long-term supply partner.

The Results

With DingHe's material support and the sustained testing efforts of the client's R&D department, the client successfully passed EN13501 certification, laying the groundwork for its expansion into the European high-end market and significantly strengthening its brand competitiveness. What began with flame-retardant aluminum laminate film has since grown into a broader partnership that now includes standard aluminum laminate film as well. To date, the two companies have maintained a deep collaboration spanning five years, with DingHe established as one of the client's core suppliers and annual supply volume stable at approximately 250 tons. Through years of close cooperation, the two sides have built strong alignment in technical R&D and supply chain management, achieving a mutually beneficial, long-term partnership.
